Accessibility for Chalmers Research

Chalmers University of Technology is responsible for this website and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. Below is a description of how Chalmers Research complies with the law on accessibility to digital public service, known accessibility problems and how you can report deficiencies to us so that we can remedy them.

How accessible is the website?

The website is partly accessible in accordance with the law on accessibility to digital public service. To the extent that there are known deficiencies, these are reported below, as well as how these are to be solved.

Supervision of the law

The Swedish Agency for Digital Government is responsible for supervising the law on accessibility to digital public services. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your views, you can contact Agency for Digital Government and report this.

Accessibility Issues

The following items are not in accordance with the law

  • Most PDF-files are not adapted for accessibility, see below.
  • Some colour contrasts are not high enough.

Disproportionate burden

Chalmers University of Technology invoke exceptions for disproportionate burdensome adaptations of content and services Chalmers Research in accordance with ยง 12 of the Swedish accessibility regulations. We invoke the exception on the following grounds:

  • The main contents in Chalmers Research are PDF-files (mainly fulltexts of research ourput). These have been uploaded over several years and with previous versions of Adobe Acrobat and other software. Validating and updating these in accordance with the law is not possible to do.
  • Colour contrasts are built in with the stylesheet library we are using (Bootstrap).

How we test the site

The site has been tested in relation to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
Testing is both manual and automatic. The tool Access Monitor Plus gives the result 9,6/10 (tested 15/9-2020). Colour contrasts have been checked in Colour Contrast Analyzer.

The latest test of the website was made September 15th, 2020.
